Uses 2026-27 rates. Pensions are salary sacrifice unless changed. Only yearly averages are compared here. A bonus paid in a single month can shift month-by-month PAYE, and daily/weekly paid work is approximated.

How to use a salary comparison

Start with the headline salary, then add any guaranteed bonus. Next set each job's pension method. Salary sacrifice lowers both income tax and National Insurance, while net pay schemes only lower income tax. Student loan repayments (and the postgraduate loan) are deducted from monthly pay above each plan's threshold.

Remember that employer pension contributions are paid on top of your salary and never hit your bank account, but they are real value, so they are shown separately. For the same reason, a longer commute or higher pension input don't show up here; compare those yourself.
